this and that.

CNN.
So far my time at CNN has been... astronomical. haha! It's exceeded my expectations. I love my boss, co-workers, job, and everything about working in news broadcasting. I know there's a lot more out there I haven't seen or tried yet, but I'm really happy with CNN right now. I love that I get to challenge my self everyday by setting goals, and going far and beyond those set goals. It keeps my job exciting and rewarding.

The very first day of my internship my boss took my fellow interns and I to a nice restaurant. Wasn't expecting that at all so it was a very pleasant surprise. One thing I love about the PR department- they LOVE food. I believe I've found my people. Haha!
Anyways, I can't say much about my work at CNN. They have a very strict online writing policy. So everything you read on my blog does not reflect the views of the company, but are solely my own opinions.

I honestly thought waking up early to go into work by 8 or 9 would be difficult. I was wrong! I ENJOY getting up and going to work. I've discovered a whole new side of me- this weird, responsible side. Definitely can't be a bad thing, right? The first week of my internship literally flew. This week isn't going as fast, but I'm happy that it's not. I don't want my internship to end so fast.

Recently, I was able to make friends with people from other departments at CNN so I'm looking forward to shadowing some of them soon. It really helps to know people-for sure.
Because of GC this past week CNN food court was JAM PACKED. I mean, disgustingly packed. I'm so glad it won't be so bad from now on. However, I did enjoy having fun with my out of town friends the entire week!!

4th of July.
My awesome planned out weekend started earlier than expected on Friday- my boss told me to go home at 2pm, my friend was flying in from NYC, & etc. I was stoked. Unfortunately, my long weekend was cut short because of an accident. Unfortunately & fortunately, it was a hit & run. My car was t-boned by a white minivan. A girl saw the whole thing and came up and told us it was a taxi cab. I will hunt the man DOWN! haha...no for real. No one was seriously injured, thank God! I'm just mildly suffering from swelling & bruising on my face, but it'll go away soon I'm sure. I'm going to the chiropractor in the morning so hopefully that'll put the finishing touches to all the annoying pain. I was thinking though...thank God for good friends!! What would I have done if I didn't have them come to my rescue that night? I really do have awesome chingoos.
Let me tell you, all of this insurance stuff, police reports, time off from work, and being carless is SUCH a hassle. Wow. A huge waste of time. So here I am vegetating at home trying to recover fast so I can go into work soon. I hate missing work. It's nice, but not so nice at the same time.

miscommunication.
Sadly, it happens all the time. Why? Because most of the time sources are not clearly consulted, which is why it's so important to choose your friends wisely. CHOOSE your friends-not everyone has to be your friend. You pick & choose. haha! This has always been my rule of thumb: always go straight to the source (when you hear something fishy) before passing judgment. It saves a lot of time and unnecessary stress.
It's hard to make good friends when you move to a new place, but I'm thankful for the new friends I got to know and am getting to know better.

aftermath.
sometimes I wonder WHY?? I mean, who hasn't, right? why did I have to get into an accident? why couldn't I find a subleaser to cover my athens rent? why is my court date the week of my accident? why did I end up with TWO tickets? why is so much money going down the drain? why am I such a gol-chi to my parents? why are some people stupid? why do people back-stab you? So much crap... but once again I'm reminded that all these questions can be answered positively.

I'm thankful for life, my awesome family, caring friends, yummy food, incredible job, my tank-like CAR, and God! yippeee!!

I agree.. with a lot. Going to the source makes things so much easier.. Believe the ones you trust, and disregard the people who do not matter. Trust history!

Thank you so much for your kind words! And good luck finding the shady taxi driver. Hopefully your injuries are as minor as you make it seem!
